About Me

I'm a postdoctoral researcher in the Climate Change and Future Cities group at the Finnish Meteorological Institute. I work on climate change related impact modeling, and especially how climate change will affect cities and urban areas. My expertise is in ML and statistical modeling, and applying them to urban modeling and downscaling of climate data.

Before my current position, I was a doctoral researcher in the Inverse Problems Group at Aalto University under the supervision of prof. Nuutti Hyvönen. There, I worked on Bayesian optimal design methods and their applications in inverse problems and imaging.

Outside of work, I enjoy sports and exploration, and especially activities that combine of these: sailing, hiking, and ski touring. I currently hold the position of vice-commodore and treasurer (Skattmästare) at Helsingfors Segelsällskap (HSS), one of the oldest and largest sailing clubs in Finland. HSS was founded in 1893 and is proud to have one of the largest fleets of classic keelboats in the world.

I have also previously been active in Aaltoes, the student entrepreurship society in Aalto University, and was the president of the alumni organization Tuolinkantajat, and a Board Member in the alumni initiative Tuolinkantajat Ventures.
